The long awaited, much anticipated, weBoost Drive 4G-X 50db 5-Band Mobile Repeater Kit (470510) is now in stock at 3Gstore!
In case you missed it, in January of 2015 Wilson Electronics re branded their amplifier line as weBoost. With this name change came a number of new product announcements. A great deal of these were simply re branded Wilson components with updated packaging and aesthetics, but there were a few stand outs that caught our attention. One of those products was the weBoost Drive 4G-X.
Visually identical to the weBoost Drive 4G-M, the -X model was announced with a superior ability to pick up signals from distant cell towers. While the 4G-M does do exactly what it is supposed to, users that are in very weak cell areas like RVers, needed more. With the FCC limiting amplifiers maximum power, the 4G-X will still follow those strict rules while providing even more connectivity where it is needed most.
The weBoost Drive 4G-X is sold as a complete kit and includes the amplifier, power supply, exterior, and interior antenna. The way this kit works is very straight forward. The external antenna is a magnetic mount and sits on the roof of your vehicle. From there a cable runs to the amplifier which plugs into 12V power. You then have a second antenna you place inside the vehicle which pushes out the amplified signal to phones, hotspots, or any other cellular device within its range. The coverage area is 3-10' from the interior antenna depending on the outside signal strength. This is the same as the 4G-M. Remember the 4G-X isn't about giving you more inside range, its about a superior ability to bring in that signal in the first place.
